I'm not slamming HSMWorks just that Delcam is a more mature product and has listened to their customer base and created solutions to the problems we have posted on the forum. I'll bet alot of my complaints with the HSMWorks have been addressed with the Delcam product. I'm going to test the Delcam Xpress 2D CAM solution and see for myself the differences between the two CAM solutions owned by one entity ADSK. Maybe they are in a long meeting? Something is going on behind the scenes and we HSMWorks users are in the dark.Īnyway someone from ADSK please answer these questions, as I'm sure I'm not the only one that is curious about my future business relationship with HSMWorks. I see more spammers than support on the forum lately. Now, no forum activity at all from the development team. Helped me get a post going while I was still in the evaluation stage.
The reason I switched CAM solutions over 3 years ago was the hungry attitude of the HSMWorks develpoment team, answering emails quickly, this was before the forum was up. Would the HSMWorks buy out have taken place if Delcam was on the table at the same time? I think not. I am just having a tough time trying to figure this Acquisition of Delcam out. Why would ADSK ownership have the HSMWorks development team continue to develope functionality when the big brother Delcam already has this figured out? I'm talking about mill/turn, swiss machining, tombstone work, CMM inspection, sub-program support, machine simulation, robots, simpler post processor setup ect. Will HSMWorks user's be allowed to transfer a HSMWorks licence for a Delcam like product? Same owner different product, right? Sharing technology right? This is what I read from the acquisition all about sharing technology but with whom is the question. I would have commented on the topic, but it is locked for some reason.
